Cleaning Operative (School & Commercial Cleaning)

Job Title: Cleaning Operative Role Overview The Cleaning Operative is responsible for delivering professional cleaning services on behalf of Sparrow Cleaning Limited across a diverse range of client sites. The role requires reliability, attention to detail, excellent time management and the ability to work independently or as part of a team whilst maintaining consistently high standards. Assignments are offered on an individual basis and may vary depending on business requirements, client needs, your experience and any specialist training you have completed. Typical Duties and Responsibilities The role may include, but is not limited to: General domestic cleaning. Commercial and office cleaning. Educational establishment cleaning, including schools and colleges. Healthcare environment cleaning. End of tenancy cleaning. Deep cleaning services. Biohazard and bodily fluid cleaning (where appropriately trained). Hoarding support and specialist decluttering cleans (where appropriately trained). Carpet and upholstery cleaning (where trained). Communal area cleaning. Builders' and sparkle cleans. Holiday let and serviced accommodation cleaning. Internal window cleaning where appropriate. Cleaning kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas and communal spaces. Dusting, vacuuming, mopping and disinfecting surfaces. Safe use of cleaning chemicals, machinery and equipment. Following colour coding, COSHH and infection prevention procedures where applicable. Reporting maintenance issues, hazards, damage or safeguarding concerns. Completing job records, photographs, checklists or reports using the Company's designated systems where required. Locking and securing premises where authorised. Maintaining confidentiality when working within clients' homes or business premises. Representing Sparrow Cleaning Limited in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Professional Standards Cleaning Operatives are expected to: Deliver consistently high standards of cleaning. Arrive punctually for accepted assignments. Work efficiently whilst maintaining attention to detail. Follow client-specific instructions where provided. Use equipment safely and responsibly. Wear appropriate PPE and Company uniform where required. Respect client property and confidentiality. Maintain professional boundaries at all times. Comply with safeguarding, health and safety and data protection requirements. Report accidents, incidents, complaints and concerns promptly. Work collaboratively with colleagues where team assignments are required. Skills and Attributes Successful Cleaning Operatives should demonstrate: Excellent attention to detail. Knowledge and Experience Desirable (but not essential): Previous professional cleaning experience. Experience within domestic or commercial cleaning. Experience working within schools, healthcare or care environments. Knowledge of COSHH and infection prevention procedures. Experience using professional cleaning equipment and machinery. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Training will be provided where appropriate. Working Environment Assignments may take place in: Private homes. Offices. Commercial premises. Schools, colleges and educational establishments. Healthcare environments. Local authority buildings. Retail premises. Empty properties. Construction and refurbishment sites. Supported living or care environments. Other locations where Sparrow Cleaning Limited provides services. Some assignments may require Enhanced DBS clearance, specialist training, the use of PPE or compliance with additional client-specific procedures.
